Marijuana They did this so you’d take

Marijuana is a very prominent and controversial issue in society today. Even thought it has benefits and is a better alternative to some medicines many false claims have been made about cannabis in history, the truths about marijuana are slowly starting to resurface. Unfortunately, these facts are under heavy criticism due to the stereotypical view of what people view as the typical pot smoker. This perception of a lazy and unmotivated American is the result of over seventy years of false propaganda and misinformation spread by private party’s who needed cannabis illegal for their own personal purposes and profits. For example big pharmaceutical company’s want cannabis to be illegal so they don’t loose money due to all the benefits it has.

Using marijuana for diseases is not a recent discovery. In fact, references to use of medical marijuana date back nearly 5,000 years. Western medicine talked about marijuana’s medical properties in the mid 1800s, and by the beginning of the 20th century, physicians had published more than 100 papers  recommending its use for a variety of disorders, these disorders include pain relief, nausea, glaucoma, and movement disorders. It is also used as a powerful appetite stimulant which helps patients that had Hiv and aids or cancer patients going through chemotherapy.

Because of the recent focus on marijuana legalization, many people are looking back to why cannabis was criminalized and made illegal in the first place. And of course, the reason marijuana was made illegal had nothing to do with health issues. The real reason was simple, good old fashioned, American business. They did this so you’d take there medicines and suck the money out of u for something that “helps” u but then has 10 side affects that comes along with it. Even though millions of people in America die from these medicines they are legal when deaths from marijuana are at a whopping zero people.

Marijuana is also not as addictive as most people want you to believe. The most addictive drug, even above heroin, is nicotine. After nicotine and heroin comes cocaine, and then alcohol. Below that is caffeine, and at the very bottom of the chart is marijuana, less addictive than your can of Dr Pepper. Basically what I’m saying is that everyone criticizes marijuana without knowing the real facts. Dr Pepper is still legal why isn’t marijuana?

In conclusion marijuana should be legalized for many reasons, for one it is a better alternative to some medicines, it has also been know to treat many diseases such as nausea and movement disorders, it was made illegal for Benefits and profits of big pharmaceutical company’s and lastly it is less addictive then Dr Pepper, real bad right.
