First, infancy to adulthood. I also learned

Published by admin on

First, my memorable experience is the time I spent in college, and how it has allowed me to learn and grow into the person that I am now. I have learned skills that I never knew existed, such as tips on writing and things that I was unaware of before visiting the writing center at my school. I still have a lot to learn but I have mastered many things I didn’t even know of before.  I have improved my skills as a student much more than I had before, and I now have twice the confidence I did before I started a few years ago.  This will help me hopefully in my search for a future career from these valuable experiences.

In addition,  I have learned about many subjects I knew nothing about before. For example,  I learned a lot about different religions and about different parts of the world, especially in my history class. I also learned about the social sciences and sociology. I learned about religions such as Buddhism, and about the self and no self and about meditation and the different practices though the religion. I also learned about Islam about the belief in only one god, and how many deities are not accepted. I also learned about Mormons and their strong belief in Jesus. I had many misconceptions about these religions before I studied them, but now I feel less ignorant and that I understand these cultures much better just through knowing about their religions and beliefs.  I feel more enriched as a student knowing what I know now in these subjects. It has also made it much more memorable for me, and worthwhile.

Also, psychology was quite the memorable experience for me. I feel very appreciative that I was able to have taken it, psychology was the first course I took in college, I enjoyed it so much I took another one. I feel like these classes made me understand a lot about how our minds work. I learned the different stages of the life cycle from infancy to adulthood.  I also learned a lot about memory, and neurotransmitters, dopamine, serotonin and nor epinephrine. I hope to learn and know more about psychology in the future, because it is valuable knowledge in understanding behaviors, relationships, and people in general.

My experience as a student, especially in English, has helped me gain knowledge about Seminars, writing as the first person, and how to communicate better. Had I not decided to attend Everett Community College, I would not have known about The Boys in the Boat and how unique the story has been so far. I also wouldn’t have know about how writing is comprised of different steps that you can repeat over and over until you get results you want. My confidence as a writer has grown a lot in just a few short weeks. Also, reading has given me insight to be able to understand what it is like to live during that time period and understand what people have been through in their lives and during the Great Depression. This subject has been interesting to learn and has given  me the knowledge to recognize story writing methods as well as helped me to become more versatile in my writing, which will improve my career in the future to come.

In summary, my time in as a student has been very memorable and enriching in many ways to my life. It has helped me enhance my skills, and has given me tools I once didn’t have, it has taught me about the worlds diversity and given me knowledge about concepts and people, and will hopefully help me when I graduate to be more successful in life and as a person in general.

It has also helped me in to understand the importance of critical thinking, and to ask questions in different situations. I also feel like I am a more well rounded person because of these aspects I have learned as a student in college.

For me these experiences can never be replaced, and I feel blessed to have been able to achieve them, that I may not have been able to if I lived in another country, especially a third world one as I did before, and had to quit school for a while. Although being there made me appreciate what I have now, and helped me to take a better direction and view of life and my future career decision.

If I could go back in time and change anything or any of the memorable experiences I had in college or just in life, I wouldn’t change a thing. I am happy for life and today. This memorable and valuable experience has helped me to grow in many ways, and hopefully more to come.
